Now that school is over (for now) I have not been too productive other than going to the gym. Working only two days a week has been great--I have lots of free time! Maybe too much... Basically, I'm bored. If only this rainy weather would lighten up a little and I can actually go outdoors and enjoy the sunshine when I'm NOT working. I'm hoping to pick up a few more shifts a week, actually, because I need to make more money. If IK does not give me an extra shift I'll have to pick one up from Hollister again. I'm trying to save up for for either a car or a trip somewhere (both will be equally expensive) which requires me to definitely work more than twice a week! It'll be difficult since I have to pay my phone bill and for my luxuries. Either way, putting aside at least $100 per paycheck will suffice. In the end, it will be SO worth it.

I'm excited for summer school. Although it may seem ridiculous and wasteful to enroll in only one class, I still want a "care-free" summer and I still want to be able to work a ton. Can't wait for days at the beach, evening dinners, clubbing, and strolls down Steveston or the Seawall. So many things to do!EEEEEEEEEEEEK! I'm getting butterflies thinking about the summer.

Until then,

All I want to do is sleep...

But first, it'd be nice to rant a little bit :P

Why do professors have to make all their assignments and exams all in the same time frame? CRUELNESS! What did I ever do to you, professors?!

Sigh... okay, no worries. I will make it through. Just got to pick an ad from the 1920s or 30s and write about it based on Marchand's chapters from Advertising the American Dream. Except I haven't read too much... Why? Each chapter is like 30 pages long and the font is super tiny!

Do the professors actually expect us to read and remember everything? Silly them. Then I have the French midterm... and then my other communications class midterm which is based on our readings which are also about 30 pages long with tiny font (per author). Seems almost unreasonable. Ahh brain overload! Reading break was definitely NOT a reading break; more like... go on vacation/do-nothing break.

Anyways enough. Let's do this! Only less than 2 months left before exams! Then it'll be SUMMER! But i'm still debating whether i want to do summer courses yet... I should though :/

THE WEEK AHEAD...

The worst has passed! I managed to pull through and finish all that I needed to for this month and I won't have anything due until Feb 28. But that doesn't mean I should slack! I'm trying to think ahead and do my work now instead of procrastinating which I totally did for my last paper because I actually did not have enough time to do. Luckily next week is reading break! (And may I add, Valentine's Day!)

Now, I don't want to be too excited about it because it shouldn't really matter since Valentine's Day shouldn't be the only day you show the one you care about your affection and appreciation. You should appreciate those you love everyday!

But I do have to admit it's a day where a girl can feel extra special... or if worst comes to worst, it somehow totally goes wrong :P but let's try to stay positive. What are you going to do for your sweetheart? ;)

This reminds me of a funny thing. I was at work and speaking with another co-worker, Scott, asking him what he's doing on Valentine's Day when a server interrupted saying "Oh Valentine's Day? Just the other day I overheard someone calling it 'SINGLES AWARENESS DAY'" and then the three of us bursted out laughing. I guess Valentine's Day isn't something everyone looks forward to :P

Then it's homework, reading, and studying! Work... and school. What I would love to do is go for a walk on a sunny, crisp, cool day down at Steveston. It's so refreshing and relaxing. I actually took a walk there with Alex last month and a swan was swimming in the water. It was lovely but lonely. Hopefully it finds its mate before Monday :P jokes.

Anyways, GREAT GAME TONIGHT CANUCKS! Let's keep our number 1 spot! WOOT!

Sun Peaks is beautiful! The scenary up on the mountains was absolutely spectacular. As for the trip itself, it was interesting and didn't go exactly as planned but hey, it's an experience to look back and laugh. First night we left Richmond at around 5pm and got there at midnight (we made so many stops to Tim Hortons and to shop for groceries). The ride up was also scary and dangerous. Snowing/raining/hailing or whatever it was! Some cars were flipped upside down on the side and another car went into a ditch!

But once we got there we tried using the code to enter the condo but guess what? It didn't work and we called the property manager and no one picked up. Luckily there was a nice lady next door that let us in and tried to help but there wasn't much she could do. She offered to let us stay at her condo but it was nice enough she already let us in! So we all had to sleep in the cars. Worst sleep i've ever had! Haha. Anyway we got the code in the morning and got refunded for the night and got free pizza. Then we had breakfast and hit the slopes. Soooo exhausting!

SUPER SORE THE NEXT DAY! My whole body is aching but I got up to go snowboarding anyway. I was getting sort of cranky cuz i'm so terrible at snowboarding haha but i'll get better as I practice more. Then we went into the hot tub again (outdoors!) Then we went to the pub and I can't remember what it was called. Drank a bit, played the hockey machine on alex's team and owned everyone else! Went back to our condo around 1:30am (or was it 2am?) And made some Kraft Dinner and finally went to bed around 3am.

Our last day here Alex and I didn't go snowboarding while everyone else did. We explored "The Village" and ate there and looked around at their shops. There wasn't too much to do in this area. Alex and I had some alone time in the hot tub and it was awesome! We totally pigged out on chips :P and enjoyed each other's company. Soon after we all had to pack and go home. Trip home wasn't as scary but it was extremely foggy until we got off the Coquahala?? But anyway, HOME AT LAST!!!!

Although it was an amazing trip it's back to business. I have a super busy schedule as follows:

Jan 31 - cmns 223w Semiotics Paper

Feb 3 - french 211 Quiz 1
Feb 28 - french 211 midterm
Feb 28 - cmns 223w 1920s Advertising Paper

Mar 1 - cmns 221 midterm
Mar 7 - french 211 Devoir 2
Mar 14 - french 211 Quiz 2
Mar 15 - cmns 221 presentation
Mar 28 - french 211 Devoir 3
Mar 28 - cmns 223w Social Representation Paper

Apr 4 - french 211 Quiz 3
Apr 4 - cmns 223w presentation
Apr 4 - cmns 223w Term Paper
Apr 5 - cmns 221 Term Paper

Along with that hectic schedule, i have plenty of readings to do AND work. Busy busy busy... I'm a busy bee :)

To start off my blog today I'd like to tell a story.

It happened yesterday on my way home from school. I had just gotten onto the back section of the 135 bus and went a few stops before this "dude" hops in the back. He nabs a seat next to this girl and starts to talk to her. He says aloud, "Hey, you wanna help me start a conversation? I want to try to get this entire back section to join in on our conversation." And the girl looks at him like wtf but says "okay?" So they get the girl next to the girl he started the conversation with to join in, then they get the girl next to me to join in (i was across from this "dude" and two girls) But after that no one else joins in (haha) so he decides to tell these 3 girls an experience of his. He says "I feel asleep on this bus but heading towards the other way (westbound) and when I woke up I saw lots of snow. I thought to myself, 'where am I? Am i in Whistler?' So I get off and I ask someone, 'Hey do you know where I am? Am i at Whistler?' The person replied with a strange look and said, 'uhmmm... you're at SFU' "

LOL. I tried so hard not to laugh just then and there. I looked at this guy... I'm pretty sure he was drunk. Anyway onto today...

SFU Surrey campus is AWESOME. It's so much shorter commuting there than to the Burnaby campus. And SFU surrey is small and cute and has a shopping centre AND a T&T! I'm going to try to get a few more classes here in the future.

So I heard it's gonna snow tonight. Yay for me because I won't be travelling anywhere tomorrow morning but around my home in my pyjamas possibly eating rice krispies cereal and possibly watching Phineas and Ferb or whatever else is on.

I'm excited for tomorrow afternoon because Alex and I will be doing some grocery shopping and then making (healthy) pizza and (healthy) snacks and sandwiches for our trip! I can't wait to hit the slopes again :) This time i actually have to try to carve...

Since I'm skipping class on Thursday... my weekend starts NOW! But first I need to go to Hollister and have our group photos taken then it'll officially be the weekend.

Just living the good life.

SCHOOL IS BACK! Can i add that i'm also fat?

I haven't gained any weight but my body is definitely needs to hit the gym SOOO (just half an hour ago) i finally bought a year's pass to the gym! So that was the easy part...now it's actually motivating myself to go to the gym is the challenge. I need to brainstorm some ways to keep me motivated or at least exercising daily.

Funny school started just yesterday. I know Kwantlen & UBC started on tuesday... Langara starts next week! Oh well...I don't mind coming back to school; I had only one class this week anyway. My amazing french class! It's so much fun speaking french again but honestly i'm a little intimidated by some of the great french speakers in our class just because I haven't been practicing any french since i graduated high school.

I have no class today but i will be heading up that mountain to get a textbook to do some homework that's already due for monday! Gives me something academic to do. I should pick up a book to read for a hobby. Should look up some great reads online..

So school on mondays, tuesdays, and thursdays. 3 courses in total. That gives me enough space to study, go out, work, and work out :)

Just livin' the simple life.
